Mauritania explores its renewable energy potential
As the production of renewable energy increases in Mauritania, the UN Agency for Renewable Energy (IRENA) says that the location of the country makes it ideally suited for solar and wind power. According to the agency, the energy potential amounts to 4,000 Gigawatt-hours. In 2018, Mauritania emitted less than one tonne of CO2 per inhabitant, over 15 times less than the US and five times less than the UK.

ESG ETF growth accelerates in Asia
Despite the fact that exchange traded funds focused on environmental, social and governance themes have garnered only about 4 per cent of total Asia Pacific ETF assets, their market share is growing fast. The products attracted about $2bn in inflows both 2020 and 2019 against just $159.8m in 2016, while net flows in the first half of 2021 already amounted to $1.7bn.
