EU adopts new law banning greenwashing and misleading product information
The European Parliament on Wednesday gave the final green light to a new law banning misleading environmental claims on products and improving labelling. Members voted overwhelmingly in favour of the directive, which aims to protect consumers from misleading marketing practices and help them make better purchasing choices.
Businesses aim to get green travel policies on track
New survey reveals four out of five SMEs intend to take steps to encourage employees to embrace lower carbon travel options. Over 80 per cent of UK small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) intend to increase their support for lower carbon business travel, through corporate travel policies and budgets for 2024.

Germany’s emissions fell to 70-year low in 2023. Will they continue to drop in 2024?
Germany’s greenhouse gas emissions fell to a 70-year low in 2023, according to a new study. This is largely down to a sharp drop in coal-fired power generation, with a stagnation in industry also contributing. The country emitted 675 million tonnes of CO2e last year, 73 million tonnes fewer than in 2022.
